The mission of the CCFIP is to strengthen the relationship between fathers and their children, as well as reverse the trend of absentee fatherhood.
About the Partnership
The Clayton County Fatherhood Initiative Partnership (CCFIP) was borne of collaborations developed during the Administration of a set of 2006 ACF Compassion Capital Fund grant awards by the Morehouse School of Medicine's Technical Assistance Support Center (TASC). The collaborative relationships began around April 2006, pursuant to a series of TASC projects designed to combat gang violence. During the eleven (11) month "Round Table" collaborative exercises that followed, and several additional training events, the collaborative partners discovered evidence of a very distinct correlation between gang violence and absentee fathers.
This effort has now reached over a dozen additional community and faith-based groups, with a potential to reach many more. The new alliances include, to name a few, the local District Attorney, local county Sheriff, county Mental Health center, county Extension Service, Juvenile Court, county Solicitor, local Superior Court, local School District, county Community Services Authority, local Minister's Conference and Ministerial Alliance, local Media, the Morehouse School of Medicine's Health Promotion Resource Center (HPRC), and the Georgia Department of Human Resources, Division of Mental Health Developmental Disabilities & Addictive Diseases (MHDDAD), Region Four - Office of Prevention Services & Programs.
